A contemporary voice for Techno’s New School, the rise of Layton Giordani can be labelled as simply, meteoric. An inspirational performance from the likes of Danny Tenaglia set the trajectory, and at 19 years of age Giordani began the work. Cutting his teeth on the New York club circuit, he honed his DJ skills and within time he was handing the likes of Adam Beyer examples of his studio creations.

Recognizing something special, Beyer took Giordani under his wing with mentorship and guidance, thus 2017 brought Layton Giordani’s debut 12 tracker to Drumcode. The LP, aptly titled ‘Where It Begins’ detailed his staunch dedication to the craft from the get-go, subsequently leaving such an impression on fellow artists the LP hence receiving critical acclaim. Fast forward to 2020, and we saw the delivery of Giordani’s most complete and robust offering to date, with his sophomore album ‘New Generation’.

Crafting a critically acclaimed sound through inspirations far removed from techno, the LP marked a decisive pivot in Drumcode’s production output, advocating Layton’s nouveau strain of modernised techno in its most tailored form. Extensive musical knowledge coupled with an insatiable work ethic provided the perfect recipe for rising through the ranks of techno. With a sharp touch and deft ear, Giordani career has continued to steam roll and has since forged headfirst into his career with unmatched tenacity.

A ‘To-do’ must for any techno devotee, Awakenings Festival 2022 was one for the books. For those that made the trek in 2022 were privy to one of the biggest sets in recent times. Layton Giordani and Bart Skils came together to lay down 2 hours of techno that in all honesty, there are not enough superlatives to describe the set that ensued.
